Integrated
Marketing Communications Agency develops Portland operation
as corporate headquarters
PORTLAND,
Ore.—January 29, 2001—Sanda Communications CEO Jerry
W. Saveriano announced today the selection of the team that
will head the corporate headquarters operation in Portland.
The company, which began operations three years ago in Corvallis,
recently opened a fully staffed integrated marketing communications
operation in Old Town to serve mid-sized West Coast technology
clients.
The Portland
team responsible for growing and managing the enterprise includes
general manager Ron Runyan, former partner at Netcode; director
of public relations, Deb Hedding, former vice president at
Rockey Bowler Public Relations; Dave Schwanke, art director,
former manager of the art department at The Employment Guide
and account executive Julia Oliver, Sanda's most senior employee,
who transferred from the Corvallis office.
“Our
culture and the companies on our client roster gave us the
ability to hire some of the best talent in town,” said
Saveriano. “People are now seeking us out to see if they
can be a part of what we've created here,” he said.
Runyan
was a partner with Netcode before coming to Sanda. His background
includes an MBA from Vanderbuilt University and work on Web
design project management, Internet marketing, and business
planning and management.
Hedding
is currently the president of the Portland Metro Chapter of
the Public Relations Society of America. She is also a Viet
Nam and Operation Desert Storm veteran of the U.S. Air Force,
which she retired from in 1997. Her work includes management
positions in agency, corporate and government public relations.
Schwanke's
work with technology leaders like Intel, Tektronix, Oracle
and Sony, plus major project work for consumer-oriented-industry
clients such as Almay Cosmetics and Leupold & Stevens is at
work for Sanda's unique client roster of Oregon technology
companies. Oliver graduated cum laude from Pacific University
in Forest Grove in 1997. As an account executive, she manages
marketing, advertising and public relations projects.
Sanda
Communications continues to hire new staff to meet their growing
client roster.
