Brent Hildreth’s plumbing business, Drain Doctor, has had great success with RootX, treating hundreds of residential sewer lines and septic tanks in central Missouri. He uses video inspections to check for roots in the line, and in most cases, pours a jar of RootX down the customer’s toilet. If there’s a large root mass, his crews will cut out the roots, followed immediately with RootX. Drain Doctor uses about two cases of 2-lb. RootX jars every month.

Hildreth said once he’s treated a homeowner’s sewer lines or septic system, 99% of the time he gets a call back a year later for another treatment. Besides repeat business, Hildreth said he also gets referrals from existing customers; in one instance, a customer referred three neighbors to Drain Doctor.
