He said his customers appreciate how RootX can solve their immediate problem with root intrusions and keep the problem from coming back. With the proven effectiveness of RootX, “it will sell itself,” Hildreth said.Drain Doctor

Hildreth said root intrusions account for 50-60 percent of the 12-15 service calls Drain Doctor makes on an average day. He uses video inspections to check for roots in the line, and in most cases, pours a jar of RootX down the customer’s toilet. That ensures the RootX foam reaches roots that have spread to the crawl space under the house’s foundation. If there’s a large root mass, his crews will cut out the roots, followed immediately with RootX. Drain Doctor uses about two cases of 2-lb. RootX jars every month.

Drain Doctor has been treating pipes with RootX for 13 years and uses the annual customer reminder program to build repeat business. Hildreth said once he’s treated a homeowner’s sewer lines or septic system, 99% of the time he gets a call back a year later for another treatment. The video inspections for these repeat customers show little to no root growth in the lines. “It’s done very well,” he said.

Besides repeat business, Hildreth said he also gets referrals from existing customers; in one instance, a customer referred three neighbors to Drain Doctor. He said plumbers can use RootX as a tool to help generate business. “It’s the best product on the market,” Hildreth said. “It will work for you, plain and simple.”
